These are some of the most frequently asked questions about fishing charters. If you have a question that isn’t answered below please Contact us.

Q: Where do we depart from?

A: We will depart from Bay Pines Marina – 5000 92nd Street N. St Petersburg, FL 33708.

Q: What time do we leave the dock?

A: Generally we leave between 7-8am for morning trips and 12-2pm for afternoon trips, however this may change depending on time of year and our weather patterns.

Q: Do you have federal permits?

A: Yes, The Parker and the Cobia are both federally permitted vessels. Without these permits you are limited to fishing in state waters which is only out to 9 nautical miles. Beware of Illegal charters asking you to buy your own fishing license!

Q: Are we going to catch fish?

A: We GUARANTEE you will catch fish! If you don’t catch anything, your trip is free! Your captain will work hard to put you on quality fish. Check out our Gallery of recent catches! Note: We cannot guarantee catches of certain species

Q: Is there a bathroom on board?

A: There is a private head on board the cobia, no head available on the Parker.

Q: Is a deposit required to secure a date?

A: Due to high demand in busy seasons, we do require a $250 deposit to guarantee your date.

Q: What if the weather is not good?

A: If the weather is unfavorable for fishing, your captain will be in contact with you to reschedule or cancel your trip. If the captain cancels the trip due to weather and you are not able to reschedule, you will receive a full refund of your deposit.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Everything is provided for you; including all rods and reels, tackle, cooler with ice for your food and drinks, fishing licenses, and bait. You will need to bring your own food and drinks, sunscreen, hat, etc. If you want to bring your own cooler, please consolidate and do not bring several coolers. We are only out for a maximum of 10 hours on our longer trips, and less is more when it comes to what you actually need offshore. Please do not overload the boat with unnecessary items!

Q: Will you filet our catch?

A: Your captain will filet and bag your catch for you. You may also take your catch whole, we do not keep sharks or Permit.

Q: Will I get seasick?

A: If you are prone to motion sickness; sea sickness is a possibility. Non-drowsy Dramamine or Bonine is recommended if you are worried about getting sea sick.

Q: How can we pay for the trip?

A: We accept cash, credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through Square. Balance due at the end of your fishing trip. There is a 3% fee for any credit card transactions.

Q: Do we have to tip?

A: Although tipping is not required, it is the industry standard. Just like when you visit a restaurant for dinner, tipping is not mandatory but it is expected. Your captain and crew work very hard before and after your trip to make sure you have a great day on the water. 20% of the trip cost is customary.

Q: What type of gear do you use?

A: We use a combination of Shimano and Daiwa reels, Dogfish tackle rods, and our personal favorite L.T. Custom Rods.

Q: Can we bring alcohol on the boat?

A: Absolutely! However, please no hard liquor or glass bottles.

Cancellation Policy

If the captain cancels your trip due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you will be issued a full refund if you are unable to reschedule. Any cancellation by the customer must be cancelled more than 7 days before your trip departure, otherwise your deposit is non-refundable. Any no call/no show is responsible for 50% of the cost of the trip. Cancellation Policy is at the captains full discretion.

We took my father out for his 75th birthday with captain Brian and had an absolute blast. There were 9 of us so we had to split the party between two boats. Brian set us up with two boats (the second captains name was Brian as well). Both parties had an amazing time and for a shorter charter caught a ton of grouper. The boats were extremely clean and well equipped. Very easy to communicate with and made sure everyone had a great time. Highly recommend!

Brian is the best! Nice guy, helpful, hard working, and a true pro that will get you on fish. We have been out with him numerous times and will continue to book charters with him as it’s always a memorable experience. So many captains I’ve been out with don’t really care about the experience. On the other hand Brian wants to make sure you get a 5 star experience every time and that’s his goal for his clients and I’m happy to be on the receiving end now many times. Thanks Brian. See ya soon on our next fishing adventure chasing the big ones. Thank you!

This is our second trip with Captain Brian, and he didn't disappoint. We had an amazing time both trips! We caught a great variety of different species, and Brian was absolutely fantastic at teaching us all about them, including which ones were keepers. The porgies and snappers made incredible fish tacos for dinner. Brian is patient, knowledgeable, and wonderful with all ages. Highly recommend booking him! Looking forward to booking our next one.
